NIC is looking for experienced and licensed individuals to assist NIC as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). In order to maintain the NIC National Examination Program as legally defensible, NIC is obligated to conduct workshops to update references, item writing, job analysis and/or focus groups. NIC School Overview DVD availableThe NIC School Overview is now available on DVD. The Overview contains an informative introduction into NIC testing and procedures, as well as complete presentations on Cosmetology, Nail Tech/Manicuring, Esthetics, and Barber examinations.
The DVD will serve as an avenue for sharing information with board members, instructors, and students. To order, fill out the order form and send it in with payment ($25). Mailing instructions are printed on the order form.
Note: NIC is not able to process Purchase Orders. All orders must be accompanied by check or money order.

IC practice examinations
Online practice exams for Cosmetology and Nail Technicians are now available via our computer-based delivery partner, LaserGrade. Anyone wishing to take a practice exam may contact LaserGrade, 800-211-2754 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern Time and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The cost is $30.00, and payment is accepted via American Express, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. No refunds are made. Individuals must have access to eMail in order to obtain confirmation and password. Purchase of the practice examination provides candidates with access to the practice test for 24 hours once they have logged in.
